A First For Covington At Ark-La-Tex Speedway With The ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints
Adding his name to the list of winners with another ASCS Region, Oklahoma’s Matt Covington bested the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints Saturday night at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La.
Trailing the opening three laps, Covington worked past Bradley Fezard on the fourth circuit. Keeping pace through several restarts, the No. 95 paced the bottom of the Speedway to a 2.370-second advantage at the close of 25 Laps.
Three wide at the white flag for second, the race for the silver step of the podium went to Howard Moore over Jordon Mallett with Bradley Fezard ending up fourth. Friday’s winner, Cody Gardner completed the top-five.
The ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints race again at Mitchell’s Motorplex in Perkinston, Miss. on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23.
The 2026 season marks the 35th season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes several regional tours, along with cooperating tracks and events throughout the United States.
