Wesley Smith Lands First ASCS Elite Non-Wing Win At Big O Speedway

Making the trip from Nixa, Missouri to Ennis, Texas worth the miles, Wesley Smith found his way into Victory Lane at Big O Speedway with the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating on Saturday night.

Smith’s first career win with the series, on top of being his first in an ASCS sanctioned event, the No. 44 took the green from the fourth position. Chasing Paul White through the opening four laps, a restart on Lap 5 saw the No. 1 pull out of line with a mechanical issue, putting Smith to the point where he would stay the rest of the race.

Trailing Smith by 1.367-seconds at the close of the 20-lap affair, Raven Culp crossed second with Josh Hawkins third. Rolling from 13th, R.J. Miller made it to fourth with Keith Martin making up five spots to finish fifth.

The ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating is scheduled to compete again at Route 66 Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 3 in Amarillo, Texas.

The ASCS Elite Wing and Non-Wing Series is owned and operated by Nathan Moore and operates under the sanction of the American Sprint Car Series. Rules for both tours can be found on the ASCS website. Nathan can be reached at (903) 780-9934 or email elitenonwingsprints@gmail.com.
