Adding his name to the list of winners in ASCS competition on Friday night, Pocahontas, Ill. shoe Zach Daum raced his way to Victory Lane on No Fender Friday at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints.
Shooting forward from the fifth starting spot, Daum made it to second on the first revolution. Giving chase to Howard Moore, No. 40 looked to have things in hand until a slower car spun on the cushion in the middle of turns one and two. Leaving little time to react, Moore’s night ended with four laps to run.
Putting Daum to the point, the fight was on between the No. 5d and Bradley Fezard in the No. 938, with Daum able to capture the win by 0.310-seconds. Ernie Ainsworth crossed third with Jordon Mallett and Conner Wray, from 11th, making up the top five.
The ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints is set to take on Riverside International Speedway on Saturday, July 19 for the Greg Hodnett Memorial.
The 2025 season marks the 34th season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes several regional tours, along with cooperating tracks and events throughout the United States.
