Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBIA, Mo. (March 16, 2022) – Garet Williamson kicks off his second edition as a full-time Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competitor this weekend when the series starts the 2022 season.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, hosts the 49th annual Spring Nationals on Friday and Saturday, starting a busy ASCS National Tour slate for the Bryant Paver Motorsports driver.

“I’m pretty excited,” Williamson said. “Last year we were really good and were passing for third before we wrecked the first night. The second night we ran a career-best 10th-place finish. Devil’s Bowl is a track where if you start up front you’ll have a good shot at running up front.

“I think we’ve adjusted pretty good to that track. After the first time we went there I didn’t like it. The second time we were faster and a lot better. We’ve continued to improve each time we go back and I enjoy racing there more and more. We roll good around there now where we have a shot to run up front.”

Williamson has grown since his rookie campaign on the ASCS National Tour in 2020 when he placed ninth – second among rookies – in the championship standings.

“The biggest thing is experience and laps,” he said. “The first year we ran it was my first year in a sprint car. We’ve been a lot more places now and I’ve seen a lot of different tracks. I think we’re a lot more experienced.

“A top three in points is a goal of ours this year. It’s realistic for us. We have the speed. It’s about putting it all together. You have to be smart and not put yourself in a bad position. If we can continue to have the speed we’ve had and I can make good decisions this can be a great year for us.”
