Following events on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Knoxville Raceway, the cylinder heads on Scott Bogucki’s No. 84 (Ostrich Engine) were brought into question during post race tech.
The heads were removed and further inspected and determined to be illegal as the ASCS Logo had been deformed, defaced, and partially removed in several cylinders.

Spec Heads: Brodix Chevrolet Style Heads part # 27-211 with ASCS stamp. During polishing, the edges of the letters on the ASCS logos are sometimes inadvertently brushed with the polish wheel. This is permissible as long as letters are still intact. Angle milling is allowed as long as the head remains within 1 degree of original manufacturer’s specifications. Excessive porting and/or angle milling of the ASCS logo Cylinder Heads may affect their structural integrity, and is in no way recommended by Brodix.
The rule is further clarified in section 4C-3 to say:
Polishing is allowed as long as the original ASCS logo is not affected, or port shape is not altered substantially.
Scott has been disqualified and will forfeit event points and all prize money.
