Trio of Nights On Tap For Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series

(March 23, 2021) Gearing up for the three nights of competition, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network will take on two quarter-mile ovals this week with Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas headlining action on Thursday, March 25 while Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway comes in with two nights on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27.

The tour’s inaugural visit Superbowl Speedway, the event is presented by Terry Mattox Promotions. Set to be the 23rd different Texas oval to host the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the event will be the 200th contested in the “Lone Star State”. The race is also an ASCS Lone Star Regional event.

Thursday, March 25, Pits open at 4:00 P.M., grandstands open at 5:00 P.M., with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for youth 11-14, and free in the grandstands for kids 10 and under as well as all Military with proper ID.

Two nights at I-30 Speedway, the dates lineup up just shy of the inaugural event ever held by the American Sprint Car Series on March 28, 1992, which was topped by Wally Henson. On track 22 times in 1992, the first National Tour event took place May 15, 1993, with Tennessee’s Mike Ward atop the night’s podium. Since then, 79 National Tour events have been contested at “Hammer Hill”. The weekend is co-sanctioned with the ASCS Mid-South Region.

Friday, March 26, and Saturday, March 27 both open at 4:30 P.M. with racing at 7:30 P.M. (CDT). Admission each night is $20 with kids 12 and under free into the grandstands. Pit Passes are $35 per night.

For each event, the ASCS Schoenfeld Muffler is required.

Kicking off the 2021 season this past weekend at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, the weekend was swept by Washington’s JJ Hickle in the Ivan and Jane Worden owned No. 63.

Hickle’s rookie campaign with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the early point standings reveal Oklahoma’s Matt Covington and Australia’s Scott Bogucki currently tied for second in tour standings. Roger Crockett is currently fourth with Blake Hahn making up the top five. The two Oklahoma-based drivers are also tied for position going into the three-night swing.

The 2021 season is the 30th year of competition for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.

For the first time, the series can be seen live on two platforms, with Racinboys.com and FloRacing.com featuring National Tour events in tandem. Both are subscription-based sites. FloRacing.com is $20 per month, billed annually at $150 per year. Racinboys.com is $29.99 per month.
