Bryan Hulbert – Tulsa, OK (February 10, 2012) – The 2012 line up of events for the ASCS Southwest Region has been posted.
Tracks scheduled to host ASCS Southwest Regional events include Canyon Speedway Park who will host six nights including the Copper Classic and Western World Championships. Canyon Speedway Park will also be the starting and ending point for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters.
Cocopah Speedway is scheduled for three nights of racing with a pair of nights in March with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters. The months of April, June, July, and August are currently sitting dark on the Southwest Regional Schedule.
Other tracks that have confirmed dates with the ASCS Southwest Region include Arizona Speedway in Apache Junction, Arizona for a single night in September.
The El Paso Speedway Park will see the ASCS Southwest Region along with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters. The race will take place in November and marks the first time since 1994 that the El Paso Speedway Park has seen ASCS sanctioned competition.
The Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico will host also host the ASCS Southwest Region and Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters for the third year in a row with the Prelude to the Western World.
Currently there are a dozen races on the 2012 ASCS Southwest Region schedule.
Rick Ziehl enters the 2012 season as the only driver to have ever claimed an ASCS Southwest Regional Championship since the Southwest Region began in 2008. To go along with his four consecutive championships, Ziehl has also claimed eleven feature wins.

The 2012 season marks the 21st year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, which brings the best of Sprint Car racing to dozens of different tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
