The American Sprint Car Series National Tour has found a new weekend for its doubleheader debut at RPM Speedway – Oct. 18-19.
Along with the new date for RPM, the 2024 edition of ASCS Speedweek has been finalized as a four-race event with a special cookout for teams across from Creek County Speedway on Wednesday, June 12.
A new race event for Friday, June 21, is in development as officials agreed to remove the previously scheduled race at Two Dollar Pistol Motor Speedway. And due to conflicts in the region, the season finale at Big O Speedway in October has been removed from the schedule. Officials will work with the track to find another date in 2025. A new championship finale weekend will also be announced at a later time.
While the Series’ trip to RPM Speedway will be the first for the National Tour, it won’t be the first for ASCS. The Elite Outlaw Sprint Cars competed at the 1/4-mile track last year, and there have been multiple regional events there since 2009 – including the ASCS Gulf South Region, which will co-sanction the Oct. 18-19 event with the National Tour.
Before the Series’ return to RPM, the ASCS National Tour will run its first Speedweek championship in over a year, June 11-15, with events at Texarkana 67 Speedway (June 11), Creek County Speedway (June 13), Arrowhead Speedway (June 14) and Tri-State (OK) Speedway (June 15).
In the last five editions of the Speedweek contest, there have been five different champions – Tim Crawley (2022), Ryan Timms (2021), Sam Hafertepe Jr. (2019), Sammy Swindell (2018) and Aaron Reutzel (2017).
The American Sprint Car Series will return to action with a two-day trip to Kansas at Rush County Speedway, Friday, May 31, and Dodge City Raceway Park, Saturday, June 1.
