Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each American Sprint Car Series National Tour event? Series Announcer Randy Ward will bring you his top-five* picks each week.
This week: Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK, April 12
RANDY’S TOP FIVE:
Blake Hahn
Why: The ASCS track record at Salina Highbanks is held by none other than Blake Hahn. Hahn set the mark in 2023, continuing a run of success for him at the Highbanks that dates back to 2015 when he earned his first-ever ASCS National Tour Win.
Jordan Mallet
Why: While Jordan does not make an appearance at every ASCS race during the season when he does, he is always in the mix. A year ago, Jordan topped the National Tour regulars at the Batesville Motor Speedway and then in his final race of 2024 he finished second in the World Short Track Challenge at Riverside. Mallett and team will look to continue strong runs when they open their season with the ASCS at Salina.
Whit Gastineau
Why: White Gastineau stood in ASCS Sooner Region Victory Lane a few weeks ago, and in that race at Enid Speedway, he beat the defending ASCS National Tour champion, Seth Bergman, to the finish line. That win, coupled with lots of speed in his limited races against the ASCS National Tour last year, Gastineau has the confidence to make him a contender this weekend.
Caleb Saiz
Why: 2024 was a magnificent year for Caleb as he earned victory on 10 occasions across three different states. Caleb started this season by venturing out and racing two regional races with ASCS last month, collecting top five finishes in both instances. Will his team try for their first ASCS National victory when they race Salina this weekend?
Brady Baker
Why: The teenager from Arkansas raced a few times with ASCS in 2024, including a podium finish in the season opener last year. That set the tone for Brady to collect four finishes inside the top three against the National Tour in his limited races. After making the feature one night in our opening weekend at Volusia Speedway Park, the team is ready to bounce back with a strong performance at Salina.
