RANDY’S FIVE: Paducah International Raceway

Randy Ward's picks for Paducah

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each American Sprint Car Series National Tour event? Series Announcer Randy Ward will bring you his five drivers to watch each race week.

This week: Mother’s Day Salute at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY, May 10

RANDY’S FIVE:

Landon Britt
Why: Perhaps Landon is not a name you would immediately think of as a favorite this weekend, but don’t sleep on him either. It’s been a good start to 2025 for his race team. Right out of the box, they scored a top 10 in ASCS National competition last month in Salina, OK, and then raced locally in Memphis the next week and scored a second-place finish. Add to those numbers that Landon had a solid run in the ASCS race last fall at Paducah, where he raced forward to land a top 10 finish, he may have the confidence needed to record his second career ASCS National Win this weekend.

Zach Blurton
Why: Paducah was a good stop on the tour last season for Zach. He recorded a Heat Race win and a top-five Feature finish. Three of his last four starts this season have seen Blurton finish inside the top 10, and returning to Paducah may be just what he needs to propel those top 10 runs into a podium finish.

Matt Covington
Why: Flat tires were the theme for Covington last October at Paducah International Raceway. Matt was leading the Dash then had a tire go down and lost the lead on the final lap. Then, he led 11 laps in the Feature before another tire issue caused him to lose the top spot yet again. He is a former ASCS winner at this track and nearly had another win last year. Will his second win at the track come Saturday?

Sam Hafertepe Jr.
Why: The current track record holder for ASCS is Sam Hafertepe Jr. He established that record last fall with a blistering pace in qualifying, 13.665 seconds around the big track. Sam already found Victory Lane this year with ASCS and has been on a roll, scoring a pair of 410 top fives last week. Watch for the No. 15h to be fast again.

Terry Easum
Why: Terry struggled in the ASCS National race at Salina, OK last month, something he is ready to forget all about by putting together a solid showing this weekend. Easum recently earned a top five result in a 360 race in Alabama to show that the team can get things going where they want. He has teamed up with veteran crew chief Jimmy Jones, that should continue to show results like that top five they earned a few weeks ago. Easum is ready to score his second career ASCS feature win and show that 2025 will be better than his rookie campaign in 2024.

You can follow these drivers and more this weekend at Paducah International Raceway, May 10, by getting your tickets at the gate.
