Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each American Sprint Car Series National Tour event? Series Announcer Randy Ward will bring you his five drivers to watch each race week.
This week: Harvey Ostermiller Memorial at Big Sky Speedway, Aug. 22-23
RANDY’S FIVE:
Garen Linder
Why: Linder, from Oregon, has been one of the top drivers in the Frontier Region this season, earning a couple of wins at a couple of different tracks (Electric City and Gallatin). He would love to add Big Sky Speedway as a third track to win at in 2025, and no better weekend than this with the National Tour in town. Big Sky has been good to Linder this year, with three top-five finishes in four appearances. That consistency has Linder second in the Frontier Region point standings.
Kory Wermling
Why: Wermling is the only driver with a perfect 10 this season in the Frontier Region, scoring a top 10 result in all 10 races so far in 2025. On that list is an impressive three top fives at Big Sky Speedway. Stepping outside of ASCS competition, Wermling has found Victory Lane four times in Great Falls, MT, so he has been on a roll this year.
Trevor Kirkland
Why: Kirkland is another driver who has had success at Big Sky Speedway in 2025, he is another guy with 3 top 5 results on the track that sits just outside of Billings, Montana. He has been solid everywhere, gathering a total of 7 top 5 finishes in his 10 races this year. Kirkland sits 3rd in the Frontier region points entering the weekend.
Ryder McCutcheon
Why: The 14-year-old ventured away from his New Mexico home and raced with the ASCS Northern Plains region at the end of July in South Dakota and Wyoming, earning top-five results in both of those races. Now he is going to try his hand at one of the biggest races on the National schedule this year at the Harvey Ostermiller Memorial in Montana. The young driver found Victory Lane in a 360 Sprint Car in July in Arizona before his venture north started. What a story it would be to see him find success on the big stage.
Zach Blurton
Why: Blurton nearly found victory in Big Sky Country last season, ultimately finishing second place on championship night behind the two-time and defending Harvey Ostermiller Memorial winner, Jake Bubak. Blurton needs a boost as he has slipped to ninth in national standings, but a good weekend at a track he’s had success before could vault him up several spots.
