Inside Line Promotions – SALINA, Kan. (June 11, 2019) – Robbie Price is getting a new car ready for the upcoming weekend with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour following a frustrating Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek.

“We’ve struggled lately so it’s hard to have high expectations,” he said. “We changed from gas to oil shocks and we’ve tried every bar combination imaginable. We’re going to pull down a car this week and try it and hope it’s better.”

Price is venturing to Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, S.D., on Friday before visiting Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., on Saturday. It will be his debut at Brown County Speedway and only his third career start at Black Hills Speedway, where he recorded a top-10 finish during both races in 2017.

Price competed last week at a trio of tracks during Speedweek. He advanced from sixth to fifth place in a heat race and from 15th to 10th in the A Main a week ago Tuesday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.

“We were good and passed cars, but the track got locked down and one lane,” he said. “It took me a while to find the line where we were good. I felt really good on the bottom of turns one and two. I knew it was pretty treacherous so I moved back to the top and ran there the rest of the race.”

The action shifted to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., on Wednesday. Price charged from sixth to third in a heat race to make the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 8 to line up eighth, but an ill-handling race car and an early miscue hampered the team.

“We swung for the fences and we missed it quite a bit on the setup,” he said. “In hindsight we would have been better to stick with what we had and run around eighth the whole race. It was tight on entry. The way I had to drive the car it wasn’t working for me. I spun on the first lap and then we struggled the rest of the race.”

Price rebounded from the early incident to finish 14th.

Thursday’s show at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., rained out. Speedweek concluded on Saturday at Salina Speedway. Price placed third in a heat race and spent most of the feature battling for a top 10 before a late-race crash relegated him to an 18th-place finish.

“I was riding in around ninth or so for a while,” he said. “On the last lap someone spun out in front of me in turn two. I thought the read end was tying up so I pulled off after that.”

Price ended up finishing ninth in the Speedweek standings.
