POINTS UPDATE: Seth Bergman Extends Lead, Terry Easum Makes Big Jump

Terry Easum

Keep up with the chase for the 2024 American Sprint Car Series National Tour championship.

LATEST RACE: Red Dirt Raceway (May 10)

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Set to pilot the No. 2C for TwoC Racing for the remainder of the 2024 season, Bergman drove the car to a second-place finish at Red Dirt Raceway – his second consecutive podium finish this year after winning the season opener at Super Bee Speedway. With the finish, Bergman increased his points lead from eight to 31 over Andrew Deal.

MOVERS:
Terry Easum (+8): The Oklahoma native had a big weekend in his home state, winning with the ASCS National Tour for the first time in only his eighth start. The victory catapulted him up the standings to third – now 34 points behind Bergman.

Koty Adams (+6): Adams hasn’t been able to find much luck in the first two races of the season, having a tire blow at Super Bee Speedway and then getting involved in an accident at Red Dirt. However, his consistency in making the Feature has helped him jump from 19th to 13th in the standings.

Kyler Johnson (+4): In his third full season with the ASCS National Tour, Johnson continues to put together strong runs, charging from 23rd to fourth at Red Dirt. The performance boasted him from 10th to sixth in points.

Zach Blurton (+1): Blurton continues to put together consistent top-15 finishes. At Super Bee Speedway, he charged from 18th to 12th and at Red Dirt he charged from 21st to 15th. With that, he jumped one spot to move to 11th in points.

Michael Day (+1): Day didn’t have the day he was hoping for at Red Dirt, finishing 21st. However, he did gain three positions in the race and that was enough to help him gain a spot in points, moving up to 12th.

Matt Covington (-1): The Oklahoman was on track for a potential good day at Red Dirt after scoring the pole position for the Feature. But falling to a ninth-place finish also caused to him to fall a spot in points to seventh.

Brady Baker (-2): Baker made a big gain during the Feature at Red Dirt, driving from 19th to 11th. However, the finish didn’t garner him enough points to maintain his spot in the standings as he fell two spots to fifth.

Brandon Anderson (-3): After starting the season with a top-five finish, Anderson struggled at Red Dirt, falling out of the top 10 to a 13th-place finish. With that, he also fell to eighth in points.

Sam Hafertepe Jr. (-3): The five-time Series champion had a strong start to the night at Red Dirt, setting overall Quick Time in Qualifying. Then, it went downhill from there. He had to race his way into the Feature through the Last Chance Showdown, which he won. And then finished 18th in the Feature. With that, he fell to 10th in points.
