LATEST RACES: RPM Speedway (Oct. 25-26)

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Seth Bergman took one large step toward his first National Tour championship in Friday night’s race at RPM Speedway when he won on the same night second-place driver Sam Hafertepe Jr. failed to finish due to mechanical trouble. The momentum swung back on Hafertepe’s favor on Saturday when he won and Bergman finished seventh, but after all was set and done, Bergman’s lead grew from 129 points entering the weekend to 156 markers with four races to go in the season.

MOVERS

Jason Martin (+1): The reigning Series champion briefly found himself outside the top 10 after missing the Batesville Motor Speedway event due to injury, but the Liberal, KS native has been climbing back up the order ever since. Finishes of fourth on Friday and seventh on Saturday were enough for Martin to move past Andrew Deal and into the top five for the first time since Speedweek in June.

Andrew Deal (-1): After a spin on Friday night relegated him to 16th, Deal got back in the top 10 on Saturday night with an eighth-place effort. With one weekend remaining in his rookie campaign on the National Tour, the Caney, KS driver now sits sixth in the rundown, 20 points outside of the top five.

CLOSING THE GAP

Hank Davis (4th): The TwoC Racing driver used a pair of podiums in Texas to creep closer to third-place pilot Matt Covington, who wasn’t far behind Davis on both nights in fourth on Friday and fifth on Saturday. The gap between drivers is now 54 points with four races to go, which means Davis would need to gain an average of 14 points per race to end his rookie season in the top three.
