LATEST RACES: Lakeside Speedway (July 19), 81 Speedway (July 20)

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Finishes of second at Lakeside and seventh at 81 allowed Seth Bergman to maintain the top spot in the standings, but the gap to the field has shrunk considerably. A pair of wins for Sam Hafertepe Jr. moved him within 100 points of Bergman for the first time since before Speedweek, with Saturday’s event in Wichita being the fourth-straight race in which the No. 15H has finished ahead of the No. 23.

MOVERS

Landon Britt (+2): Britt was as high as second in the running order in the early stages at 81 before fading to fifth by the checkered flag. Nevertheless, the run matched his season-best finish at Dodge City Raceway Park, and a ninth-place effort on the previous night at Lakeside moved him up two spots to sixth.

Jason Martin (+4): Martin entered Speedweek second in points, but the reigning champion quickly fell outside the top 10 due to mechanical woes and a hard crash that forced him to sit out the following week at Batesville Motor Speedway. Martin finished seventh at Lakeside for his best run since returning to the Series and followed that up with another top 10 at 81 to move up four spots on the weekend.

Kyler Johnson (-2): Johnson’s weekend got off to a rough start Friday at Lakeside where he pulled the No. 45X machine off the track early and was credited with 24th. While he did complete all the laps at 81 on Saturday, a Feature finish of 12th wasn’t the rebound Johnson had in mind, and he leaves Wichita eighth as a result.
