Stay up to date with the chase for the 2024 American Sprint Car Series National Tour championship.
LATEST RACES: Clay County Fair Speedway (Sept. 10), Arrowhead Speedway (Sept. 13-14)
CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Seth Bergman was in need of a rebound after crashing out of the Montana Roundup finale at Electric City Speedway, and he got exactly that. While he didn’t win any of the three races contested last week, he finished on the podium in all of them. That consistency paired with Sam Hafertepe Jr.’s blown tire at Clay County Fair Speedway and crash on Saturday at Arrowhead Speedway has his lead sitting at 111 points, and it will stay that way until Benton Speedway on Oct. 11 with the World Short Track Challenge at Riverside International Speedway on Sept. 27-28 paying show-up points only.
CLOSING THE GAP
Hank Davis (4th): After coming up one spot short of a third-straight win at Clay County, Davis finished fourth on both nights at Arrowhead to cut his gap to Matt Covington in third from 177 points entering the week to 132.
Jason Martin (6th): The reigning champion’s week got off to a rough start when he finished 17th at Clay County, but he got back in the top 10 on Friday at Arrowhead with a ninth-place result. Then on Saturday, he finally scored his first National Tour win of 2024 in the 24th race of the season to close within 20 points of Andrew Deal in fifth.
Kyler Johnson (9th): The driver of the No. 45X machine scored his first top 10 since Big Sky Speedway with an eighth-place run at Clay County. He wasn’t able to match that performance at Arrowhead, where he finished 17th on Friday and 11th on Saturday, but a tough week for his fellow Quinter, KS native Zach Blurton means Johnson’s gap to Blurton in eighth is down to 12 points.
