BREWERTON, N.Y. (June 12, 2017) Making his Lucas Oil ASCS National Speedweek debut in 2016, New York’s Jason Barney will be back for more as joins up with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Tuesday, June 13.

The current point’s leader with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, Barney’s 2017 season has been one of consistency thus far with three overall wins, along with 10 top-five finishes in 11 feature starts across New York, Pennsylvania, and south eastern Canada.

“I was surprised last year that we ran as good as we did,” said Barney.

On making the long drive back to the mid-west, Jason explained, “I used it kind of like a measuring stick for my team, as well as myself, as far as how we can compete on a little different tire, different tracks, and against different competition so I’m looking forward to doing it again to see if we’ve improved in our team and how we do things.”

During Jason’s Speedweek debut in 2016, the No. 87b ran four nights with a best finish of fourth at Lawton Speedway.

“Seeing some of these tracks for a second time, it’ll be good to see if we run better or if it was just a little luck, but either way, we’re excited to be back and see how we measure up.”

Jason will get two new tracks to add to his list as well with the Devil’s Bowl Speedway and Randolph County Raceway on the lineup.

The Lucas Oil ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek continues on Tuesday, June 13 at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. Following the Devil’s Bowl, the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network heads north for the Lawton Speedway (Lawton, Okla.) on Wednesday, June 14 followed by Creek County Speedway (Sapulpa, Okla.) on Thursday, June 15. On to Missouri for Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.) on Friday, June 16 and finally Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday, June 17 before the series heads to Washington for the 46th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway (Alger, Wash.) on June 22-24.
