Michael Day Ready For Sophomore Run With The American Sprint Car Series

CONCORD, N.C. (April 18, 2024) Fresh off his rookie season with the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, Michael Day will return for his sophomore season.

“Definitely a huge learning experience and a lifestyle shock,” Day said. “Learning how to travel up and down the road with the family, maintaining and upkeep all while trying to go fast on the track is a huge juggle. I’m crazy enough to say I liked it, so we are going to do it again this year.”

A veteran of the Dallas/Ft. Worth RaceSaver scene for several years before taking on the National Tour in 2022, Day will again pilot the Roger Oaks owned JD Installations/Fast 5 Solutions No. 91.

Ending his rookie season ninth in tour standings, Day fought through the normal growing pains of racing on the road and, despite some struggles for the third-generation driver, was able to make 97.41% of the season’s Features and collected a trio of top-10 finishes.

“Our goal is to win, but I know that’s a huge task,” he said. “Ultimately, we’re working on being as competitive as possible.”
