1 MONTH ALERT: Kansas Doubleheader Brings National Tour to Lakeside, 81 in July

Jason Martin racing at Dodge City Raceway Park

Less than two months after thrilling Kansas fans in May, the American Sprint Car Series National Tour returns to the Sunflower State in July for another doubleheader weekend.

This time, the Series will make stops at Lakeside Speedway on Friday, July 19, and 81 Speedway on Saturday, July 20.

It’ll be the National Tour’s 12th race at the 1/2-mile Lakeside Speedway facility and fifth consecutive year visiting the dirt track. Last year, Austin McCarl and Matt Covington picked up their first win at Lakeside with the National Tour.

In the 11 National Tour races ran at Lakeside, there have been 10 different winners. Five-time Series champion Sam Hafertepe Jr. is currently the only repeat winner at the track with the Series.

Along with Hafertepe and Covington, Seth Bergman – the current National Tour points leader – is the only other current full-time Series driver with a win at Lakeside.

On Saturday, 81 Speedway will also welcome back the National Tour for the fifth straight year. Reigning Series champion and Kansas native Jason Martin swept the two National Tour races at the track in 2023.

Bergman and Covington are the only drivers with wins at both dirt tracks.

Andrew Deal will be another Kansas native on the hunt for a home state win. The Caney, KS driver continues to be the leading Rookie of the Year contender – currently third in points with only one finish outside the top 10 in eight starts.
