Jordan Knight Joins American Sprint Car Series Full-Time With King Racing No. 88

CONCORD, N.C. (April 15, 2024) – Kansas native Jordan Knight is joining the American Sprint Car Series National Tour full-time in 2024 with the Danny King-owned No. 88 – a car synonymous with racing around the Midwest.

Carrying on the memory of Steve King, who lost his life in an on-track accident in 2006, Knight began talking with the King family midway through the 2023 season about bringing the Steve King Foundation No. 88 on tour.

“We started talking about it last year. I was originally going to try tackling it in our family car, but I knew that was a long shot,” Knight said.

“I’ve driven for Danny several times over the last few years, and he knew this was something I was aiming for, so over the winter, he called and asked if we were going to do anything. I went up and met with him, and he said he wanted to help, so we basically merged our teams, with Danny being the car owner. I’m very thankful because tackling the National Tour wouldn’t be possible without his help.”

A graduate of the United Rebel Sprint Series in Kansas, Knight has been behind the wheel for nine years. Chasing points twice with the URSS, Knight placed inside the top three in tour standings both times. He picked up his first win with the Series last year.

“Taking the American Sprint Car Series for the first time, I would say nervous is an understatement,” he said. “If we could be a consistent top-10 car, that is my ultimate goal. Anything more than that is great.”
