John Carney II Nails Down Another West Texas Win

EL PASO, Texas (July 6, 2017) Taking on two nights at Lubbock’s West Texas Raceway over the Independence Day Weekend, John Carney II picked up his fourth win of the 2017 season aboard the Steward Builders No. 224.

“The car was perfect on Friday. The track was smooth and slick and we were able to get the win,” said Carney.

Finishing a solid top five the following night, the track presented a different set of circumstances for the No. 224 team, “Saturday was a little different. It was tacky from the center to the top, and greasy on the inside and starting on the pole, I got stuck in the grease and slipped to third and just couldn’t get to the top fast enough so we ended up forth. Just couldn’t get ahead after that so I was disappointed because I felt like I had the car to win both nights, but for what I had to work with, it was still a good weekend.”

Looking at the lineup of events this coming weekend, the team is still undecided on where their rig will land.

“Really, we’re just watching the weather to see if we want to travel. Should have a game plan by Friday morning. There’s a couple ASCS Red River Region shows that are pretty close, so we might end up there.”
