26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (October 24, 2018) – Jesse Baker scored his second ASCS Southwest Region victory of the year Friday at Canyon Speedway Park’s Octoberfest.
Friday night’s program kicked off with two ASCS Southwest Region heat races where Baker would start and finish second earning a spot in the feature redraw. Baker drew the two placing him on the outside of the front row for the start of the 25-lap feature event.
“I watched some of the mains before us and could see the track was starting to dust off a little bit, so we tightened up the car for the main,” explained Baker. “I didn’t get the best start going into turns one and two, but we came out with the lead after the first lap and never looked backed.”
Baker led 24 of the 25-laps on Friday night for his second consecutive win following his Sprint Car Stampede victory the week before in New Mexico.
“We now have a slim point lead going into the last weekend of the season at Arizona Speedway for the Copper Classic,” he said. “I’m hoping we can keep the consistency that we’ve had the last few weeks and win the championship.”
Baker holds a 17-point lead in the standings as the ASCS Southwest Region invades Arizona Speedway on Thanksgiving Day weekend for the 3rd Annual Copper Classic.
Jesse Baker would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, www.soldfast.us, Jackson Compaction, Budlong Racing Engines, CSI Shocks, XXX Racing Products, DMI, and Ti22 Performance for their continued support.
