Jason Johnson Takes ASCS Midwest Win in the Nebraska Cup!

Lonnie Wheatley, EAGLE, Neb. (September 11, 2011) – Jason Johnson earned his second consecutive Nebraska Cup victory by topping Sunday night’s 25-lap Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Regional feature event at Eagle Raceway.

The reigning Lucas Oil Sprint Car champion made a late move around Danny Lasoski to snare the $5,000 win along with $400 in lap money and another $1,000 in the weekend’s point fund.

With Lasoski and Johnson leading the way to the green flag, Lasoski led the initial 21 circuits before Johnson took command. Johnson beat Lasoski to the stripe, with Jordan Boston, Jack Dover and Brian Brown rounding out the top five.

Zach Chappell earned Hard Charger honors by racing from 19th to sixth, with Doug Lovegrove, Mitchell Moore, Trevor Grossenbacher and Gregg Bakker completing the top ten.

Dover, Bakker, Grossenbacher, Johnson and Mike Boston topped heat race action for the 40-car field, with Moore and Lee Grosz winning the “B” Mains.
