Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 24, 2019) – Bad luck seemed to haunt Scott Bogucki last weekend as he competed with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway.
However, the SawBlade.com backed driver is ready to put it all behind him and begin another march up the series’ standings as the schedule is down to six races remaining.
“It was the worst weekend ever,” he said. “Everything that could go wrong did. It began with the first heat the first night when the front axle broke and it never got better. I destroyed a car and got a concussion to boot.
“The car just never felt good. I couldn’t get the race car into the track if that makes sense. We never really got any speed all weekend.”
Bogucki’s bad weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway began Thursday with the broken front axle. He utilized a provisional, made a lap in the feature and pulled in.
The next night started better with a fourth to third heat race performance followed by a fourth place run in both a qualifier and a B Main, just missing a transfer. He took another provisional and flipped violently five laps into the feature.
“I just wanted to try and gets some laps to see what we needed to do to get the car rolling better and I got into the cushion and flipped,” he said.
On Saturday, Bogucki was forced to utilize another provisional and once again he took the green in the feature and pulled in.
“I want to thank Brian and Kurt Mueller for coming down from Illinois to help out,” he said. “Also thanks to Jean Mueller for taking me to the hospital and making sure I was okay. We will be back and we expect better results for SawBlade and all our sponsors.”
The tough weekend dropped Bogucki from third to fifth in the ASCS National Tour standings.
“I can honestly say I’m getting better and not dwelling on the negative stuff like I used to,’ he said. “We were down, but we will shake it off and get ready for Creek County. I’m excited to get back there. During Speedweek we started on the front row and finished third.”
Bogucki’s next event is Oct. 10-11 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., for the Fall Fling.
