Bryan Hulbert – MERCED, Cali. (March 12, 2020) With the weekend starting off strong with a third-place finish at Merced Speedway, Sunday saw things get upside down for Blake Hahn while trying to race his way into the A-Feature at Petaluma Speedway.
“From what we had in Arizona when we podiumed at Merced I was pumped. The car was good, we just made the wrong move and didn’t get to the bottom on one and two fast enough, otherwise I feel like I could have had a shot a [Brad] Sweet in traffic,” stated Hahn.
Ending up in a B-Feature on Sunday at Petaluma, Hahn tried to work under another car for the lead but ended up going for a ride through the third turn.
“When that happened, I felt like I got squeezed but after I went back and watched the replay, that was a deal where I should have had more patience and just let it come to me. Once I realized I was out of room, I stabbed the brake but by that point, the car was already half biked. On the brake and them tapping the No. 1 with my right front was all she wrote. Not the run we needed with having to use a Provisional, but luckily the car wasn’t damaged so badly we couldn’t keep racing and that is really what we needed to check in the A-Feature.”
A spectator this weekend, Hahn will return to action at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the Spring Nationals on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21.
The 2020 season is Blake Hahn’s 18th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars. For continued updates on Blake Hahn Racing, log onto http://www.blakehahnracing.com.
