Black Hills And Gillette Next For ASCS Western And Northern Plains

A common pairing for the ASCS Northern Plains Region over the years is the site of the next showdown with the ASCS Western Plains Region, as the two tours head for Black Hills Speedway and Gillette Thunder Speedway on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.

Looking back to last year’s South Dakota/Wyoming pairing during the Independence Day holiday, the weekend was split with Kelly Miller and Adam Trimble atop the podium.

Points going into the weekend show Miller leading the ASCS Northern Plains by eight over New Mexico’s Caleb Saiz. Adam Trimble holds third with Blair Cooper and Gryan Gossell making the top five. For the ASCS Western Plains, Gossell is the man on top over Cooper. Cole MacEwen is third, with Adam Trimble and Zack Merritt in fifth.

The South Dakota half-mile on Friday, the $ 2,000-to-win showdown, includes a fireworks show for the fans with IMCA Hobby Stock, Wissota Mod 4, Wissota Midwest Modified, Wissota Street Stock, and IMCA Modified on the card. Gates open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and veterans, $5 for youth 12 and younger who are over 4 feet tall, and free for kids under 4 feet tall.

From the high-banked half-mile to the three-eighths-mile Gillette Thunder Speedway, another $ 2,000-to-win affair is on tap on Saturday. The card includes IMCA Hobby Stock, Wissota Midwest Modified, IMCA Modified, Wissota Mod-4, and IMCA Sport Compacts. Gates open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and veterans, $5 for youth 12 and younger who are over 4 feet tall, and free for kids under 4 feet tall.

Gillette Thunder Speedway is at Thunder Speedway Rd; 13002 HWY 51 in Gillette, Wyo. Information on the track is listed on their Facebook page.
