Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (April 27, 2018) – Kyle Bellm and the Nixa, Missouri based No. 14k Sprint Car team got back into action in strong form with a fourth-place run in last Friday night’s ASCS Red River Region event atop the ¼-mile Creek County Speedway clay oval near Tulsa, OK.
With his second top-ten run in three events thus far, Bellm and the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded team take to Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway for the first time this season on Saturday night.
Bellm came out of the gates quickly at Creek County, turning the quickest times in hot laps aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry before racing from fourth to second in his heat race.
After starting sixth in the feature, Bellm worked his way to a fourth-place finish in the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision machine.
“I think we were a little better than a fourth-place car, it was really slick and we raced side-by-side for a long time with a couple of guys along the way,” Bellm relates. “It was a good, solid top-five so we’ll take it.”
Bellm looks forward to getting back to Lake Ozark Speedway this weekend, a track that treated him well last year with four wins among eight top-fives in ten starts aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil entry atop the Missouri oval.
“I’m anxious to get back there, hopefully we can pick up where we left off last year,” Bellm comments.
Saturday’s season-opening event at Lake Ozark Speedway is set to get under way at 8:00 p.m.
2018 Quick Stats: 3 races, 1 top-five, 2 top-tens.
Up Next: Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, MO) on Saturday night.
