TULSA, Okla. (April 11, 2016) Set to kick off the 2016 season, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs goes racing under the afternoon Sun on April 17 with the $5,000 to win Spring Fling presented by Peak Sport and Spine at Sedalia’s Missouri State Fair Speedway.
With Hot Laps at 1:00 P.M., racing is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 P.M. (CT) at the “Historic Half Mile” as the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models will join the mix with their own $5,000 to win feature event.
Seeing the return of Sprint Car racing in 2015 with the Casey’s General Store High Roller Classic, after an almost three year absence, this weekend’s Sunday showdown is the first of seven nights of ASCS competition at the famed Missouri oval in 2016. Since 1998, there have been a dozen nights of ASCS competition at the Sedalia oval.
Coming into the 2016 season, Jonathan Cornell is the defending champion of the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs the past four years running. The local hotshoe is a favorite to win, but will have stiff competition as some of the midwest’s top drivers are expected for their shot at the $5,000 winner’s prize.
Admission for the Sunday’s Spring Fling presented by Peak Sport and Spine at Sedalia’s Missouri State Fair Speedway is $25 with Seniors and Military admitted for $21. Kids 13-17 are $10 with children 12 and under admitted free into the Grandstands. For more information on the Missouri State Fair Speedway, fans can find the track on Facebook or call (812) 239-4246.
