Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (October 2, 2018) Arizona’s premier Dirt Track destination is back this Saturday, October 6 with the return of the ASCS Southwest Region to Arizona Speedway for Round 13 of the 2018 racing season.
The sixth appearance of eight on the season at the Queen Creek oval, the series last showing on September 15 went to Colton Hardy. Win No. 5 of the year for the Arizona shoe, the trip to Victory Lane was the second of the season at Arizona Speedway.
With Hardy currently second in tour standings by 17 markers, the top four are all within 22 points of nine-time ASCS Southwest Champion, Rick Ziehl. Still, in search of his first win of the season, Ziehl has used consistency to climb to the top with seven top-five and nine top-ten runs in 12 A-Features. Looking to third, Billy Chester holds the bronze position with Jesse Baker in tow. Josh Shipley rounds out the top-five with a 103-point margin to make up.
Along with the ASCS Southwest Region, Saturday, October 6 will also include Dwarf Cars, Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, and Bombers. Gates to the grandstands open at 5:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (MT). Admission is $15 for adults with Seniors only $12. Kids 11 and under get in the grandstands for free. Pit Passes are $30 for adults and $15 for kids 7-12.
