Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (April 23, 2019) Back in action on Saturday, April 27, the ASCS Southwest Region along with the San Tan Ford ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint Cars will head to USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz.
Revived by Arizona Speedway owner and promoter, Jonah Trussel, USA Raceway last hosted the ASCS Southwest Region in 2015 with a two-day affair on March 20 and 21 going to Logan Forler and Dusty Zomer.
Going into the weekend, the ASCS Southwest Region is led by Rick Ziehl. Taking the lead following a victory April 13 at Central Arizona Speedway. Lorne Wofford trails by three points with J.T. Imperial, Colton Hardy, and Billy Chester making up the top five in tour standings following two events. Going into Round 7 on the season for the San Tan Ford ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint Cars, Kyle Shipley leads the way by 11 markers of Joshua Shipley. Dennis Gile holds third with Josh Scheopner and Rick Shuman making the top five.
Saturday, April 27 at USA Raceway opens at 5:00 P.M. with races getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (MT). Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for Senior and Military, and kids 11 and under get in free.
