TULSA, Okla. (June 22, 2016) The Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints return to competition this weekend with an Alabama double header that takes the region to the Moulton Speedway in Moulton, Ala. on Friday, June 24 and the Ft. Payne Motor Speedway in Ft. Payne, Ala. on Saturday, June 25.
Following the regional showdown with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Southern Trailer Works, Michael Miller’s victory at the Battleground Speedway pushed the Jaz Products No. 4m to the points lead with the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints by 50 points over Kyle Amerson.
Shane Morgan holds third with Timmy Thrash and Marshall Skinner completing the top-five in tour standings. Joey Schmidt, Ryan Moore, Tristan Lee, Derek Hagar, and Brandon Blenden make up the top-ten.
The season’s second attempt at a debut at the Moulton Speedway after the April 29 date was washed out, the following night at the Fort Payne Speedway is the first time the series has been on the schedule.
In seven nights of competition this season, just as many drivers have found Victory Lane; making the 2016 season the most diverse among winners since the series began as an independent in 2013. Of the seven winners in 2016, five has been first time winners with the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints.
Friday, June 24 at the Moulton Speedway, gates open at 4:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 7:30 P.M. and will include Crate Late Models. Saturday, June 25 the Fort Payne Speedway opens at 4:00 P.M. with races at 7:30 P.M. and includes UCRA Late Models, A-Hobby Stocks, B-Hobby Stocks, FWD, Sportsman, and Pony Stocks.
