TULSA, Okla. (September 6, 2016) The Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track will roar to life once again this weekend with the U.S. Dirt Track Championship atop the four-tenths mile clay oval, situated along the back straightaway of the 1.5 mile Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, Texas.
“This is a great event to be a part of. The fans, the track crew, just everyone involved makes this a must attend event,” said ASCS Red River Director, Terry Mattox about this weekend’s race. “This is a great opportunity for our regional teams to shine on a national stage. Anytime you roll into a facility like Texas Motor Speedway, you have to be top shelf because events like the U.S. Dirt Track Championship attracts a lot of great talent.”
Co-Sanctioned with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in years past, this year will feature the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products as the headlining sanction of the ASCS Nation.
The U.S. Dirt Track Championship kicks off Friday, September 9 with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products joining the action on Saturday, September 10.
Tennessee’s Brandon Hanks rolls into the weekend 168 points ahead of defending tour champion, Kade Morton. With four races left on the 2016 lineup, the weekend could easily tip the scales on the championship standings. Fred Mattox holds third in Red River points with Jake Greider and Mickey Walker making up the top-five.
