HIGHLANDS, Texas (July 18, 2017) Mother Nature may have won the day this past Saturday night with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region, but the will to race is not slowing as the high-banked Battleground Speedway is set to try again this Saturday, July 22.
Saturday’s Feature event will pay $2,000 to win and $400 to start and is still lucky race No. 13 on the season. This Saturday will also be the debut of new Gulf South Series Director, Larry Howery. The veteran racer has taken over for the remainder of the 2017 season, following the retirement of Keith, Craig, and Debra Johnson who were with the series for 16 years.
Any questions on this weekend’s race can be directed to Larry Howery by calling (979) 574-9033 or Bruce Griffith at (713) 202-7131.
July 23 at Battleground Speedway gets underway at 7:00 P.M. (CDT) and includes Factory Stocks, Limited Modifieds, and Dwarf Cars. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children. For more information on Battleground Speedway, log onto http://www.battlegrond-speedway.com or call (832) 614-0042.
