Bryan Hulbert – ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (August 11, 2022) The season’s only trip into the state of Wyoming for the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region is set to go green this weekend with a two-day excursion to Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Taking place Friday, August 12, and Saturday, August 13, the three-eights-mile Wyoming Sprint Spectacular opens daily to teams at 2:00 P.M., with Grandstands opening at 5:30 P.M. and cars hitting the track at 7:00 P.M. (MDT).
Last visiting Rock Springs, Wyo. on September 4, 2021, the night’s glory belonged to Oregon’s Garen Linder. Two previous visits in August 2021 were split between Washington’s Colby Thornhill and Idaho’s Tyler Driever.
Going into the weekend, Montana’s Trever Kirkland commands the field with a 93-point advantage over Kory Wermling and Kelly Miller, who is tied for the runner-up spot. Phil Dietz and Ian Myers make up the top five in tour standings.
Along with the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region, the weekend will include IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, Stock Cars, Cruisers, and Go Karts. Karts complete starting at 6:00 P.M.
Admission each night is $15 with Youth (13-17), Seniors (60+), and Armed Forces admitted for $5. Kids 12 and under get in free. Sweetwater Speedway is located at 3320 Yellowstone Rd. in Rock Springs, Wy. Information on the track can be found online at http://www.sweetwaterspeedway.com.
The 2022 season will mark the 31st year of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours that encompass both wing and non-wing competition.
