May 9, 2016 (Knoxville, IA)-Agan Motorsports had the best run of the season at Knoxville Raceway this past Saturday. A 9th place qualifying effort put them in position to start second in the heat race. Jon led every lap to take the heat race win. He would then start 9th in the feature. Jon was able to drive his way through the field and finished third. This was the team’s best finish of the season and they are only looking to improve on it.
Knoxville wasn’t the only race of the week. After a month off, the Sprint Invaders returned to action on Wednesday, May 4 at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The draw put Jon starting 5th in the third heat race. He was able to pass a few cars on the start and finished 3rd in the heat, just missing the dash. Agan lined up inside the fifth row to start the twenty-five lap feature. After running 7th most of the race, a caution on lap 17 for Chris Martin moved Jon into the 6th position. Jon was able to make a last lap pass to finish in the top 5.
The team also headed to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS on Thursday, May 5 to run the KC Klassic, an ASCS National race. With a tough field of cars, nothing was going to come easy. After starting and finishing 6th in the heat race, Jon was able to work his way from 6th to 3rd in the B main to transfer to the A main. He started 19th and pulled in to save it for another day scoring him in 23rd.
Next up-Knoxville Raceway, May 14th for McKay Insurance/Nationwide Night.
