Adam Trimble Claims ASCS Western Plains Title With El Paso County Raceway Triumph

Taking the final battle, along with the war, Adam Trimble proved triumphant at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colo., on Saturday night to secure the 2024 season title with the ASCS Western Plains Region.

Quickest in qualifying at 13.536-seconds, Trimble followed that with a heat Race win. Into the dash, that would put the Matejka-Heffner Racing No. 5 outside the front row for the feature. Taking full advantage of the starting position, Trimble would lead all 25 laps for the season’s sixth victory in seven starts.

Picking up four spots to finish second was New Mexico’s Peter Smith. Third was Jeremy Huish, with Zack Merritt and Bradley Cox making up the top five.

Entering with two points separating himself and Blair Cooper, the final tally was 38 over Cooper, who ended up finishing 10th after a DNF in his Heat Race put him starting 14th in the A-Feature. Zack Merritt finished the season third, followed by Nick Haygood fourth and Ryan Rader in fifth.

Information on the 2025 season will be posted as soon as it is finalized.
