The biggest 360 Sprint Car race of the year will again behind held at Knoxville Raceway with the American Sprint Car Series National Tour.
“The Sprint Car Capital of the World” will host the Xtream powered by Mediacom 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank for its 34th running, Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 1-3.
Many of the best Sprint Car drivers in the country will converge on historic Iowa track for the three-day spectacular, which will pay $20,000 to Saturday’s winner.
Thursday and Friday’s events will award points for where drivers place in Qualifying, Heat Races, Last Chance Heats, C-Mains, B-Mains and the Features. Drivers will line up for Saturday’s championship straight up by points earned on their qualifying night. For the full format and points breakdown, click here.
Saturday’s program will contest of mains E through B and then the championship Feature. Mains E through C will transfer the top two out of each, while the B-Main will transfer the top four into the Feature.
Six-time Knoxville Raceway track champion Brian Brown (one for 360s and five for 410s) claimed his second 360 Knoxville Nationals title last year. He became the first repeat winner in nine years for the event and only the eighth multi-time winner since the event debuted in 1991.
Each of the ASCS National Tour full-time competitors will be looking for their first 360 Knoxville Nationals triumph. However, Hank Davis, who will be making his debut at the event, will have two-time 360 Knoxville Nationals champion Wayne Johnson by his side. After suffering an injury earlier this year, Johnson stepped out of TwoC Racing machine and Davis was tapped to take the wheel as the team is still in the hunt for the owner’s title.
Five-time Series champion Sam Hafertepe Jr. and 2023 Series champion Jason Martin were in the field last year and scored finishes of eighth and 22nd, respectively.
