JasonJohnson

Born and raised in Eunice, LA, Jason Johnson grew up racing Stock Cars and Mini Sprints before making his way up to Sprint Cars by the end of the 20th century. He began racing part-time with the American Sprint Car Series in 1998, winning in his third-career Feature race with the Series at Fort Payne Motor Speedway.

Throughout the 2000s, Johnson began competing for the ASCS National Tour crown, with two consecutive second-place finishes in the standings to Gary Wright from 2006-07 before winning his first Series title in 2008. Johnson went on to score four more championships with ASCS in 2010, then three-straight from 2012-2014.

Johnson prospered from his ASCS roots by moving up to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in 2015, winning the year's Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year honors. In 2016, the "Ragin' Cajun" became the talk of the Sprint Car community after outdueling Donny Schatz for an iconic 50 laps for his only Knoxville Nationals victory.

After Johnson's passing in 2018, his Sprint Car team continues to thrive on the World of Outlaws, which includes the 2019 Knoxville Nationals with David Gravel at the wheel, and Carson Macedo scoring 53 Series wins since joining the team in 2021.
