Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (May 31, 2017) – Harli White made a detour to Texas last weekend to compete with the ASCS Gulf South Region after a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader in Colorado was postponed because of inclement weather.

White kicked off the 15th annual Memorial Day Classic on Friday at RPM Speedway in Crandall, where she ended seventh in a heat race after being caught up in a crash.

“I started sixth and was up to fourth and doing well in the heat race,” she said. “I passed a guy who slid me back, caught my nose and spun me out. It was toward the end of the race so I couldn’t make up ground.”

That relegated White to the B Main. She had maneuvered from 12th to only one spot out of a transfer when the steering gear locked up to end the night early.
The team headed to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday.

“Luckily we drew well for the heat race and started on the pole,” she said. “The track was one lane around the top. It was about whoever got to the top first and then everyone followed in line.”

The outside lane got the jump on the start of the heat race and White finished second, which was good enough to lock her into the feature redraw. However, she pulled the second-highest number – seven – to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row.

“We were good, but just weren’t able to pass any cars,” she said. “It was one of those nights where you hung on. It was so far around the top it was hard to slide people. Usually Devil’s Bowl isn’t like that. It feels good to finish the race though.”

White maintained a top 10 throughout the feature before ending ninth, which marked her sixth top 10 of the season.
Sunday’s event at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, rained out.

White is scheduled to compete with the ASCS Gulf South Region this Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and Saturday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas.
