SAPULPA, Okla. (June 21, 2017) Blake Hahn is on the road this week with Dirt Cup on his mind. Just off the 2017 ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek, the driver of the Griffith Truck and Equipment/JR1 No. 52 has redemption on his mind as a fourth place finish one year ago at the famed Skagit Speedway was stripped when he didn’t report to the scales.

“I’m not making that mistake again I can assure you. Skagit is one of my favorite tracks, so my goal is to get on the podium this year. I know we can run well here,” said Hahn.

Summing up Speedweek, Hahn said it was a tough week, but productive, “Speedweek is always a challenge. We had a few things come up that we were not expecting, but we didn’t let trivial situations slow us down.”

Starting Speedweek off with a podium run at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, the weekend ended just the same at Lucas Oil Speedway. In between, the team struggled with the car not wanting to run.

“We were better than what we showed. The car felt good all week, we just couldn’t get it to run. It was like we were down 40 horsepower to everyone else.”

The problem finally revealed itself at Randolph County Raceway when the engine stopped running during the A-Feature. Come to find out, the fuel pump had been going south, “We got the pump swapped out at Lucas Oil, and man that thing woke up. I came in from Hot Laps excited because the car was right where we needed it to be.”

Arriving in Washington on Wednesday, the team will finish up maintenance and hit the track on Thursday, June 22 with Dirt Cup going until Saturday, June 23. For continued updates on Blake Hahn, log onto http://www.blakehahnracing.com.
