Dupo, IL (June 19, 2018) With stops in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, BDS Motorsports took to the 2018 Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek with ASCS this past week and a half and finished the six nights of racing with a ninth-place effort in the overall Speedweek point standings. Travis Rilat and team had a fast race car each night, but high pill draws and a tough crash at West Texas Raceway set the team back a little bit from where they hoped to be.
During the six-race stint, Travis picked up two top five finishes – a third-place run at Route 66 Motor Speedway and a fifth-place finish at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway. He and the team also had top ten finishes at Lawton Speedway and Creek County Speedway; and they ended the Speedweek with a 14th place run at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kansas. The team’s hard work landed them a ninth-place overall finish in Speedweek points and has Travis sitting 14th in the ASCS National Tour point standings after having to miss a couple races due to work. The BDS #1 team currently sits tenth in owner points, as it has competed in all 15 National Tour events held so far this season.
Following Speedweek, the team made a quick trip back to Newton, Iowa to restock the trailer and prepare for a trip out West. The team headed out to Washington on Tuesday where they will compete in the 47th Annual Jim Raper Memorial at Skagit Speedway on June 21st, 22nd, and 23rd as part of the Dirt Cup. You can find updates from each race on RacinBoys, as well as the My Race Pass app, and via the ASCS social media pages. ASCS and its partners do a great job keeping fans around the country informed on race night via Facebook and Twitter.
