Championship Weekend For ASCS Northern Plains At Black Hills and Gillette

Down to the final two races of the 2026 season with the ASCS Northern Plains Region, once again, brings the series back to Black Hills Speedway and Gillette Thunder Speedway.

Taking a massive 235 point advantage into the the final two outings, Canada’s Kelly Miller is poised to take his second series title in three years. Sweeping the series last trip through the South Dakota/Wyoming combination during the Independence Day Holiday Weekend, by simply drawing in both nights, Miller will secure the title.

Both nights this weekend offer a $2,500 to win feature event.

Friday, July 24 at Balck Hills opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and veterans, $5 for youth 12 and younger who are over 4 feet tall, and free for kids under 4 feet tall.

Black Hills Speedway is located at 2467 Jolly Lane in Rapid City, S.D. Information on the track can be found on their Facebook page.

Saturday, July 25 at Gillette Thunder Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and veterans, $5 for youth 12 and younger who are over 4 feet tall, and free for kids under 4 feet tall.

Gillette Thunder Speedway is at Thunder Speedway Rd; 13002 HWY 51 in Gillette, Wyo. Information on the track is listed on their Facebook page.

The 2026 season marks the 35th season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes several regional tours, along with cooperating tracks and events throughout the United States.
