Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 4, 2022) – Bryant Paver Motorsports driver Garet Williamson recorded a trio of top-10 finishes and garnered a pair of Hard Charger Awards last weekend during three nights at I-30 Speedway.

“To do that with our team and be that consistent showed we had a very fast race car,” he said. “Everything didn’t play to our side like we needed, but it was a good weekend overall.”

The action began on Thursday with the ASCS Mid-South Region’s Ralph Henson Memorial showcasing more than 70 drivers. Williamson placed second in both a heat race and a B Main to transfer into the back of the main event. He capped the night by rallying from 18th to eighth.

“In the heat race the track was juiced up and we didn’t get two cars on the start to win it like we needed to,” he said. “That was the difference of being in a B Main. We really didn’t change much throughout the night and we were good in the A Main.”

Williamson matched his Hard Charger Award performance on Friday during the preliminary night for the 35th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires. He set quick time during qualifying before a fuel problem in a heat race resulted in a DNF.

“Our car was definitely fast,” he said. “Things just didn’t work out the way we needed and we had to come through a B Main.”

Williamson placed second in a B Main before advancing from 19th to ninth in the A Main.

He continued to march forward on Saturday by hustling from eighth to win a heat race. That ranked Williamson ninth in overall points out of the more than 80 competitors at the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.

“Knowing there were 80 cars and we were able to pass a lot was a confidence booster,” he said. “We knew our car was maneuverable and fast. We were really, really good in the heat race and went from eighth to second before we were fortunate to get a late caution. We were able to get Tony Bruce Jr. on that restart.

“In the feature for every good lap I had on the top I had three bad ones. I couldn’t be consistent up there. The bottom was good, too. Everybody was a similar speed. The guys in front were all guys who could win the race. We could race with those guys, but everyone was good. Me and (Derek) Hagar ran side by side for five or six laps and I had to run the dog out of it. It was good to come out of there with another top 10.”

Williamson placed 10th in the feature for his career-best run at the Short Track Nationals.

Next up for the team will be its debut at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan., this Friday and Saturday during the Steve King Memorial.
