RANDY’S FIVE: Creek County Speedway (Don Swope Classic)

Randy's picks for Creek County Speedway

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each American Sprint Car Series National Tour event? Series Announcer Randy Ward will bring you his five drivers to watch each race week.

This week: Creek County Speedway on Friday, July 18

RANDY’S FIVE:

Sean McClelland
Why: The former Sooner Region champion is currently on top of the regional battle, coming into the weekend against the National contenders. No big deal for McClelland as he beat the big boys right here at Creek County in 2023. His only other start with the National Series this year was back in April when Sooner Points were awarded in another combined race at the Salina Highbanks, McClelland finished third. It’s a fairly safe bet to figure the No. 1 machine will be a factor at Creek County.

Caleb Saiz
Why: In eight Sprint Car races this year, Saiz has five top fives and sits in second place in the ASCS Sooner Region standings. Caleb is no stranger to Victory Lane, racing his way there 10 times in 2024 – one of those being for $10,000 at Vado Speedway last November. With a run for a Sooner Region title in reach, watch for the New Mexico driver to put his No. 42 car in contention up front.

Christopher Townsend
Why: Townsend ran the 2023 ASCS schedule at 16 years old for his rookie campaign. He earned a pair of top fives that season. Townsend then missed most of the 2024 season with an injury, so 2025 has been his full-time return to the car. It’s been a good one to this point with six wins, two of those in ASCS Regional competition with the Hurricane Super Sprint Series in Louisiana. Tonight, Chris makes his first ASCS National start of the year and with the success he’s had on track in 2025, he is one to keep an eye on.

Blake Hahn
Why: Hahn basically grew up around Creek County Speedway. He has raced many different types of cars on the track and raced to Victory Lane in many of them as well. Hahn also beat the National Tour at Creek County in November. So, it’s a no brainer to include the two-time Series champion in a list of drivers to watch when it comes to Creek County Speedway. Hahn needs a good run too to keep pace in the 2025 Series title hunt.

Sam Hafertepe Jr.
Why: Five ASCS wins this year … defending event winner … Five time series champion …. Yeah, watch for the No. 15h to be fast.

You can follow these drivers and more this weekend at Creek County Speedway, by getting your tickets at the gate.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch every lap live – with Randy Ward – on DIRTVision.

UP NEXT: Windy Hollow Speedway on Friday, July 25, and Benton Speedway on Saturday, July 26
