Inside Line Promotions – ODESSA, Mo. (June 27, 2022) – Garet Williamson hustled for his 12th top-five outing of the season last Saturday at I-70 Motorsports Park during the track’s 360 Nationals.

The night began with the Bryant Paver Motorsports driver timing in third quickest in his group. An early incident in a heat race dropped Williamson to a sixth-place result, which forced him to run the B Main.

“The night was rough until the B Main,” he said. “We had an unfortunate incident in the heat race. We were really good in the B Main. We changed some stuff and it was really good. We changed it a little bit more for the A Main, but in the same direction as in the B Main.”

Williamson won the B Main to transfer into the 17th starting position in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour main event. He continued to move forward by rallying for a fifth-place result. The 12 positions gained were the second-most cars passed during the feature.

“I was driving a lot harder and it got us up there,” he said. “It’s kinda been the storyline for our season. We were buried and had to work harder. It’s not always fun or pretty, but it was what needed to be done to be up there at the end of the night. And with a couple of more cautions I think we had a top-three car.”

Williamson also competed on Sunday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., where he piloted a midget owned by Dan Minear during an Xtreme Outlaw Midgets Series event.

“I want to thank Dan for the opportunity,” Williamson said. “We missed the show by one or two spots. It’s hard to break habits of a winged sprint car driver. We were really good in the B Main though. We’ll race at Sweet Springs in a couple of weeks and I think we’ll be a lot better.”

Williamson and Bryant Paver Motorsports will make their debut at a pair of tracks this weekend when the ASCS National Tour competes on Friday at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Neb., and Saturday and Sunday at WaKeeney Speedway in WaKeeney, Kan.

“I think we should be on the podium,” he said. “Whenever we can put a complete night together we’ve ended it toward the front. If we can do that there’s no reason we shouldn’t be on the podium.”
