Inside Line Promotions \u2013 GREENBRIER, Ark. (Aug. 22, 2023) \u2013 Jordon Mallett is hitting the road this weekend as the ASCS National Tour resumes competition.<\/p>\n
Mallett will race on Friday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., and Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels good to have somewhere to point the rig and go to,\u201d he said. \u201cWe look forward to getting the last piece of this year going and see if all of our preparation from the last couple of weeks pays off. It was nice to get some time at the house and shop to get things in order, but now we\u2019re looking forward to getting back on the road.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mallett posted a ninth-place result at Lakeside Speedway in May.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last time we were there it was tricky,\u201d he said. \u201cThe track was dry and hurting tires in hot laps, but they reworked it before the heat races. We qualified really poor, but raced really good in the heat race. This time I want to not have to play catchup in the heat race by getting a good qualifying lap. I\u2019ve got this car I\u2019m in a lot more comfortable on the big, fast places so hopefully that will translate to success on Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saturday\u2019s event will be Mallett\u2019s first visit to Salina Highbanks Speedway.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t really know what to expect,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel our baseline package is really good where we have it right now. We\u2019ll see what cards we\u2019re dealt and make changes accordingly. I don\u2019t have any laps there so I look forward to going somewhere new.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mallett enters the weekend ranked third in the ASCS National Tour championship standings.<\/p>\n
