Cowtown Belongs to Brown; Sherman Rules USA
KENNEDALE, Texas (October 11, 2008) – Brian Brown's first weekend of O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series competition as both car owner and driver paid dividends in the form of the Inaugural Cowtown Sprint Nationals championship following a stirring victory in Saturday night's 35-lap main event.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Sherman added his 12th ASCS Canyon Region win of the season with a triumph during Octoberfest at USA Race Park.

    KENNEDALE, Texas (October 10, 2008) – Aussie native Gavin Punch picked a prime time to capture his first career O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National feature win by wiring the field in Friday night's Inaugural Cowtown Sprint Nationals 30-lap preliminary feature event.

    While Punch held off the tough trio of Brian Brown, Gary Wright and Jason Johnson in Texas, Gordy Button raced to a $2,008 victory in the ASCS Patriots season finale at New York's Cayuga County Fair Speedway.

    TULSA, Okla. (October 8, 2008) – True, Jason Johnson carries a 91-point O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National points lead into this weekend's Inaugural Cowtown Sprint Nationals near Fort Worth, TX.

    But don't fill the Louisiana racer's name in on that $50,000 championship check just yet. There's still some business to be taken care of.

    ASCS: The Week Ahead...
    TULSA, Okla. (October 6, 2008) - The Inaugural Cowtown Sprint Nationals in Kennedale, TX, featuring the O'Reilly ASCoT National series along with the ASCS Sooner Region headlines a weekend of action that includes the ASCS Patriots championship finale on Friday night and then the ASCS Canyon Region's final stop of the season at Tucson's USA Race Park on Saturday night.

    TULSA, Okla. (October 8, 2008) - Teams planning on competing in I-30 Speedway's upcoming 21st Annual O'Reilly Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires can save a few extra bucks by submitting their entries prior to the Saturday, October 11, pre-entry discount deadline.

    Also, the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region has set its 2008 Awards Banquet for Saturday night, November 1, in Westminster, CO.

    Herrera Doubles Up with USA Fall Classic Sweep!
    TUCSON, Ariz. (October 4, 2008) – New Mexico's Johnny Herrera completed a sweep of the weekend's American Sprint Car Series Southwest Region action at United Sports Arizona Race Park by racing to victory lane in Saturday night's USA Fall Classic championship feature event.

    Herrera wrestled the lead away from Rick Ziehl a dozen laps into the main event en route to his ninth overall ASCS Regional victory of the season in as many starts.

    Herrera Hustles to Southwest Win in USA Prelim!
    TUCSON, Ariz. (October 3, 2008) – Johnny Herrera kicked off the USA Fall Classic at United Sports Arizona Race Park by racing to victory lane in Friday night's American Sprint Car Series Southwest Region main event.

    Herrera worked forward from the eighth starting position to nab his first ASCS Southwest Region win of the season and eighth overall including seven previous scores in Rocky Mountain Region action.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 1, 2008) – Race fans planning on taking in all the action at I-30 Speedway's 21st Annual O'Reilly Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires on October 23-25 can save some time and money by purchasing tickets in advance.

    All three nights of wild Sprint Car action can be enjoyed with an advance ticket at the cost of just $45, a savings of $10 versus tickets purchased on race day.

    TULSA, Okla. (September 27, 2008) – Justin Spoerl snared his first series win by besting the Sooner Region at Devil's Bowl, Matt Tiffany topped the Rebels at Screven Motor Speedway, Jason Johnson added another win in the Gulf South season finale at Houston Raceway Park, Ben Gregg and Bob Ream, Jr., topped ASCS Arizona Fall Classic action at Manzanita, Wayne Johnson won Ohsweken's Canadian Nationals and Brock Lemley won the ASCS Northwest season finale as Jayme Barnes took the title.

    Solwold Scores Northwest Win at Yakima!
    YAKIMA, Wash. (September 26, 2008) – Jason Solwold posted his first career American Sprint Car Series feature win by topping Friday night's 30-lap ASCS Northwest Region feature event at the Yakima Dirt Track.

    Solwold took the checkered flag in front of Colton Heath, with Jayme Barnes, Brock Lemley and Barry Martinez rounding out the top five.

    Meanwhile, Jason Barney and Dustin Daggett posted wins in Canadian Nationals preliminary action at Ohsweken Speedway.

    A reminder to all drivers who are planning on competing with the American Sprint Car Series National Tour or any of the ASCS Regional series in 2008, we need your new or updated profile information for the website as soon as possible.

    After we receive your information and you have become a member for 2008, your profile will be updates and added to the Website's "Driver Profile" page for all to view throughout the season. It will also include your race-by-race stats for the 2008 race season, as well as results from previous seasons.

    2008 Membership Registration Forms Available
    TULSA, Okla. (January 23, 2008) – With the dawn of another exciting year of American Sprint Car Series racing action once again upon us, 2008 Driver Registration forms are now available at www.ascsracing.com.

    Drivers planning on competing with the American Sprint Car Series in 2008 can register for just $150.

    Drivers do not have to be ASCS members to compete in ASCS sanctioned events, however drivers must be members to be eligible for contingency awards and year-end point fund monies and to be covered under the series' insurance policy.

    Crew members may join as well for just $100. Membership for drivers and crew members also assures a pit pass price of no more than $25 at any ASCS event.
